Hello Valued Readist,

LIFE
Last year was quite a year for us - putting out a new record, drawing, writing, building and concocting and left us raring, leaping and shooting into 2014 with work already commencing on record number 5. Lots of luscious piano, new instruments, dissonance, flowerpots and tape machines.

Cake Of the Month
Most important things first. Galia has been making a lot of cake. It's very easy and Carim is extremely good at eating it. Try this recipe (at the bottom) and revel in the compliments that come attached with every slice.

Live Action
We played a live session last week and did an interview with the chaps at Monocle. We left with clean genitals (special toilet) and a renewed sense of purpose. Listen to the whole caboodle here:
http://monocle.com/radio/shows/culture/122/

Recording
Just before Christmas, we recorded an extra special live session for US site Daytrotter with Gwen and Chris for added sparkle. It all happened in a crypt filled with fairy lights. Have a listen here:

Listening
We’re listening to some music, this is what it sounds like: https://play.spotify.com/user/its_psapp/playlist/62hIBTUAaIrFPrhZe6BSe3

Building
We are slowly assembling the components for our giant xylophone. Big instruments are the new small instruments. But small instruments are still pretty big.

The Future of Music
Galia has made some predictions using pen and paper about what the future holds for music and sound. You can trust her. Here it is:

3 Interviews
Lots more talk from us here - we've done 3 interviews, we have no secrets left.

If you haven't already, why not bag yourself one of our new Psapp bags? They are really strong and have cats on them. Perfect for all carrying-based activity. And we have lovely American Apparel t shirts and all sorts of other nice stuff in our friendly shop:

BYE THEN
Right, we're off to write that new record. Here’s the nice cake recipe off the internet:

Apple and Blackberry Cake
• 125g butter, softened, plus extra for the tin
• 125g caster sugar
• 3 large eggs, beaten
• 50g ground almonds
• 100g self-raising flour
• 2 Discovery, Russet or Worcester apples, peeled and cored, each cut into 12 segments
• 100g blackberries
For the topping
• 1 large pinch cinnamon
• 2 tbsp demerara sugar
• 25g butter, cut into small flakes
• 25g peeled and toasted hazelnuts, roughly chopped
• icing sugar, for dusting

Method
• Heat oven to 160C/140C fan/gas 3. Butter a 22cm round loose-bottomed cake tin and line the base with baking parchment. Beat the butter and caster sugar together in a large bowl until it is light and fluffy. Gradually pour in and beat the eggs, a little at a time, until you have used two-thirds, adding flour if it curdles. Fold in the remaining egg, the ground almonds and finally the flour, and combine everything gently.
• Add two-thirds of the apples to the cake mixture and all the blackberries. Turn the mixture into the prepared tin and smooth it out evenly. Scatter the remaining apples over the surface of the cake. For the topping, sprinkle over the cinnamon, demerara sugar and butter. Bake for 50-55 mins or until a skewer comes out clean. Remove the cake from the oven and scatter on the toasted hazelnuts. When the cake is cool, dust lightly with icing sugar. Serve in slices.

LOVE
